Her eyes widened with delight as she took in the scene before her. Flo and Eb were nowhere to be seen, which was natural – they were expected to keep discreetly out of the way of the practices since it was for their wedding. But Flo’s mother, Righteous, and her sisters Hope and Esther, had evidently arrived some time during the day. Righteous was Dorcas’ favourite aunt; she loved all Flo’s family, and in that moment when she saw them and they saw her, Dorcas felt life could hardly be more perfect.
